Royal Decree 3\/2023<\/a> establishes the technical-sanitary criteria for the quality of drinking water, its control and supply. Also Royal Decree 314\/2016<\/a>, which establishes the criteria for the control of radioactive substances in natural mineral waters and prepared waters packaged for human consumption.<\/p>\n

In these regulations, depending on the type and origin of drinking water, Alpha activity indices must be determined at a first stage total, beta total and beta rest, tritium activity and activity of radon. Depending on the values obtained, a second stage will be passed in which the activity of specific natural radionuclides (Polonium 210, Lead 210, isotopes of Uranium (U-234 and U-238) and Radium (Ra-226 and Ra-228)) will be determined, and the activity of artificial radionuclides (C-14, Sr-90, Pu isotopes, Co-60, Cs-134, Cs-137 and I-131).<\/p>\n

In order to advance in the improvement of technical quality, the methods currently not accredited are being adapted to extend the current scope of accreditation (n\u00ba 620\/LE1050<\/a>).<\/p>\n
