The laboratory, as part of its external Quality Control, participates annually in different intercomparison exercises to verify the accuracy and precision of the tests. This participation is mandatory for accredited tests and is convenient for any other test that the laboratory performs.
The LRA routinely participates in the annual intercomparison exercises organized by the CSN, in which periodically every four years the total number of environmental matrices used in environmental radiological monitoring are evaluated.
It also participates in the annual intercomparisons organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
